What 2025 looks like
Now we have been given the roadmap for 2025 let’s take a look at what we can expect from next year and when we can expect it.

To start off we can see (and it has been confirmed) that another round of Plunderstorm is coming in early 2025.
While we don’t have a confirmed date for the second Plunderstorm it is shown to be before patch 11.1 so we can make a guess this will be in January or early February.
This iteration of Plunderstorm looks to follow the same format as the previous version but with new rewards and a new way to purchase these rewards with the new Plunderstore.
The Plunderstore will replace the previous renown system and instead allow you to spend your gathered plunder on the reward of your choosing from the get-go so long as you have enough plunder), this will allow players to acquire the rewards they want quicker instead of ploughing through various renown unlocked to get the most desired prize (which is not very piraty after all).
After Plundertorm our next major event is patch 11.1 Undermined.
The first major patch of the expansions comes with a new play zone (the city of undermine), new dungeon (not mega-dungeon), new raid, 2 new delves, the new D.R.I.V.E system, some mysterious warband UI updates and the beginning of season 2
As a solo player, one of the more interesting points here is the D.R.I.V.E system, which is essentially dynamic ground mounts.
Following the success of skyriding Blizzard has attempted a new style of ground mounts, these mounts will go somewhere between 300-500% faster than current ground mounts, be capable of boosting and drifting and be customisable to improve qualities such as top speed, acceleration and drift.
The Warband updates haven’t really been mentioned at all but from the sounds of it, we may be able to change the background of our Warband screens soon and possibly add some custom elements to the screen as well.
We won’t have long until we find out as popular guesses for this patch release date are somewhere in late February, although no official release has been confirmed.
Then we move out of the cold of winter into the hope of spring, but from the sounds of it things will still be looking very… dark.
Patch 11.1.5 brings back horrific visions and new content which is being called nightfall (some Hallowfall connections maybe?), while we have no information on this it sounds like it could be a similar event to those we saw in the Dragonflight minor patches that will hopefully come with its own progression tracks and rewards.
And of course, how could we forget the most exciting event of this whole roadmap, the children’s week updates are also coming in this patch…. woo.
Patch 11.1.5 is set for an early spring release. My guess is late April.
Moving on we have patch 11.1.7, this is where things start getting vague. This seems to be where the Wow team don’t want to reveal too much and give us more generic updates to the story, content and systems. This could mean almost anything.
But we do at least get a confirmation that the turbulent timeways event will make a return here, so we know if there are any characters we just can’t be bothered to level we can power them through here. Patch 11.1.7 is looking at a late spring release, I am going to say early June.
Next up is the final major patch of TWW patch 11.2. We know next to nothing about this patch other than it will contain all the normal goodies: a new zone, dungeon, raid, world events, and the start of season 3.
The more unique features here are more warband updates (whatever that means), Brewfest updates and seasonal rewards refreshes which could be very interesting.
While nothing has been confirmed about this patch two icons were data mined early in TWW release one was a Goblin icon linked to patch 11.1 (which we know is the case following the undermined reveal) and the second was an Ethereal icon linked to patch 11.2. This is purely speculation but my guess is something Ethereal and void related for the final TWW patch.
Patch 11.2 is set at an early/mid summer release, my guess is late July/early August.
At the end of summer, we will be seeing a reveal for the next Wow expansion: Midnight. No new content here just more information on the next expansion. This is set for later summer and speculation is that this will be revealed at Gamescom 2025 which is set for August 20th-24th.
Then moving into Autumn we have patch 11.2.5, again not a lot of information here yet just more content and systems updates but we will get the new 21st anniversary event (so I guess you can look forward to a 21% increase to xp and rep gains).
Set for early/mid Autumn, this could be released in late September/early October.
Then our last known patch for 2025 is 11.2.7, which again has almost no details other than more content and system updates. Possibly acting as an epilogue to TWW if we get no season 4.
Set for late Autumn this could be released around late November.
Now there are two things left to mention which could just be the most exciting parts of this entire roadmap.
The first is the house symbol at the end of the roadmap, this is almost certainly alluding to player housing. Player housing was mentioned in Warcraft direct to be a Midnight feature, so this symbol could indicate a Midnight release (which I think is a bit ambitious) or more likely a pre-purchase/pre-patch feature for the Midnight expansion. Coming after patch 11.2.7 just in time for Christmas 2025.
Finally, we get to the last tease which is the ominous green colour of the bar at the end of the year. Most have speculated that this is alluding to a Legion remix event. This would make sense as it could possibly be a period of content brought for TWW if there is no season 4. Much like MOP remix this new remix would give players something to do while we prep for the release of Midnight potentially in early 2026.
So there we go that is a full rundown of what we can expect next year with some speculation thrown in. But what do you think? Do you agree or do you think Blizzard are cooking up something different? What feature/patch are you most looking forward too next year?
