So this happened during timewalking…
So this week I was taking advantage of the timewalking event to level some alts.
Everything was going to plan until the unimaginable happened…
I was innocently checking my mail in a break from constant dungeons and discovered a purple item had appeared in my bag.
It was the reins of the Infinite Timereaver, i’m sure many of you will know this is a rare drop from any timewalking boss.
I am not a player that does much mount hunting especially the rare drop mounts.
I had forgotten that in doing timewalking dungeons this was even a thing until it appeared.
While I would like to say it was a nice bonus and I managed to move on, unfortunately that wasn’t the case (as you can infer from this article).
The serotonin boost I got from getting the mount was more intense than reaching max level with the Evoker alt that I was doing the dungeons as.
This led me down a bit of a hole.
Dont worry I have not spent most of my week beating up the lich king for invincible or aimlessly hunting rare spawns around Azeroth.
But i have been paying attention to what mounts i have ignored and what is available.
Another feature i have ignored since the start of TWW is the warband currency transfer system.
Using this system I realised I had loads of timewalking badges on random characters I don’t even remember making (I am still trying to ignore the amount of badges I have inevitably lost on characters I have deleted over the years).
By merging these badges on one character i managed to buy 2 more mounts during this current timewalking event.
I was also lucky enough to obtain the mech suit mount from the Awakening the machine event this week.
Along with the Darkmoon Charger and Emerald Snail mounts I acquired from the trading post this week.
I am feeling very lucky this week and now have more mounts than i can use (a fantastic excuse for more alts).
But this fortune has given me the inspiration to try and share it with my readers so here are some easy-to-obtain mounts you may not already have:
First up is the smoldering Emberwyrm.

To get your hands on this guy you will need to go to the legion version of Kharazan.
Once inside you are looking for a message to pop up in the chat window that reads: “The strange chill of a dark presence winds through the air”.
This is the start of a secret 5-minute timer to find 5 crystals. The exact location of these crystals can be found here.
Upon completing these 5 crystal you will encounter Nightbane (if your max level he will fall over) and he drops the mount.
Be aware that there is around a 20% of the mount dropping so it may not happen on the first try but the drop chance is quite high so it shouldn’t take many tries.
Next up is the Arboral Gulper

Even though this mount comes from the dreaded Shadowlands expansion (queue the booing) it is one of the most unique mounts in the game and one of my personal favorites.
It is also relatively easy to get.
The mount is a 100% drop from a mob called Humon’gozz located in Ardenweald
However in order to spawn this mob you will need an item called an unusually large mushroom.
This has a chance to drop from any mob in Ardenweald so chance is by leveling through the zone you will probably find one at some point.
Humon’gozz should be easy enough to take down for a max level player.
Finally we have the Tempermental Skyclaw

Basically a giant fox with bat wings, whats not to love.
This could be the easiest or most annoying mount to obtain out of the three depending on your viewpoint.
All you need to do is bring 20 Gnolan’s house special, 20 Tuskarr jerky and 20 flash frozen meat to the stable master of Three Falls Lookout in the Azure Span.
Now these ingredients are cooking reagents which you could gather yourself which can be annoying.
Or if you have the coin you can purchase these on the auction house, meaning you could possibly get this mount within 10 minutes.
So those are my recommendations for interesting mounts that are easy enough to get.
But what do you think?
Do you already have these mounts?
Do you care about mount collecting?
Have you had good luck with mounts in the past?
