This week I wanted to share a platinum wow video on possibly my most passionate subject in recent years: The Sethrak

Season 2 journey

Its been another good week for my personal journey.

The vault was good to me this week awarding me my first tier slot:

By the end of the week I am looking at 1 635 ilvl and tier 11 delves are still a challenge by significantly less punishing than before.

I also very fortunately managed to loot a wave scrambler for the Underpin for next week, which should make my runs much easier for next week.

I have also managed to achieve 58 gilded crests and am at my cap. This means I can’t crate any high-level gear this week but next week I am all set.

For next week I am planning much the same as this week with hopefully good RNG on my vault and coffer key loots and I will continue to push my profession knowledge getting ready for those enchanted gilded crests.

It’s never been better going solo

Playing solo in World of Warcraft has always been a limiting endeavour, the highest ilvl gear and latest unlockable transmogs/mounts have always been locked behind end-game content that requires cooperation (e.g Raids, M+ dungeons or PVP).

Therefore as a solo player we were limited to running old raids for the relevant transmog (usually waiting a few expansions for this content to be solo-able) and the endgame being very limited.

But things have changed.

The heroes of this story are delves. Content that can be completed solo and in a relatively quick time (depending on the tier level and player power), delves also provide high ilvl gear in the endgame meaning they are the solo player’s endgame bread and butter.

In season 2 of TWW delves are even better for solo players. Tier 8-11 bountiful delves now award 639ilvl gear with 649ilvl gear from the weekly vault with the latter gear being able to be upgraded to a maximum of 665ilvl, this is the equivalent to heroic raid gear or loot from some of the highest tiers of M+. Being able to achieve this from purely solo content is unprecedented in World of Warcraft’s history.

This goes even further however with tier 11 delves now awarding Gilded crests (although this is limited to a maximum of 31 per week). This means that solo players can use the crafting system (either using their own skills or by using the crafting orders) to make enchanted gilded crests (which can now be purchased and don’t need to be ordered from an enchanter) to make gear with a maximum ilvl of 675. The only gear that is of a higher ilvl this season is track 6 myth gear.

So this means solo players now have a route to the best gear in the endgame.

Using the catalyst solo players can even get access to tier bonuses (even if they aren’t as unique this season) meaning that increases in power is available to solo players as well.

Blizzard seem to be delivering on the statement they made at the start of TWW where they made a promise to reward players for their time regardless of the content they engage with. This was initially aimed at warbands but the philosophy has expanded to the solo player as well, with us finally taking a seat at the endgame table.

This increase in ilvl for the solo player makes content easier to complete and will even allow the solo player to become stronger quicker and be able to go back to the old content they may have missed out on and complete old raids and transmog/mount unlocks easier than ever.

With solo content being easier and more rewarding than ever, how do you feel as a solo player? Is there anything missing from your experience? let us know.
