Delves are hard.... and that’s fine

Also the latest news and guides for the solo experience

Welcome to the solommo,

We have had a surge of new subscribers since the last post, so welcome. Thank you for being here.

I had an interesting interaction with some other wow players. This brought up the idea of having your playstyle and not getting caught up in the top 1% of players and how they are playing, which is the subject of this week’s article.

Also, make sure you check out the dedicated Facebook page (Facebook) I created for this post, it’s a good place to share experiences, let me know what you think about this publication and give me suggestions on what you want me to cover.

Also, I know some of you are still confused as to what delves are and how they work. So I have created a guide to delves, that I will release later this week.

In this week’s issue:

  • Delves are hard… and that’s fine

  • What are the upcoming time-walking dungeons changes and what do they mean?

  • A look at duel gathering builds for making money in the war within

  • And much more…

News

  • What are the upcoming changes to time-walking dungeon scaling? (Ivy-veins)

  • You can start farming currency now for the upcoming 20th-anniversary event (Wowhead)

Guides

  • The fastest delves to complete for vault progress (Wowhead)

  • How to complete the glory of the delver achievement for a unique mount (Wowhead)

  • How to use the time walking event to unlock the netherwing dragon mounts faster (Icy-veins)

Economy

  • Duel gathering builds for making money (Wowhead)

Delves are hard…. and that’s fine

If you are anything like me then it is very easy to get caught up with the latest information on game systems.

How to achieve the best rewards, the best path to go down for your given class, what not to miss out on etc.

It can all be very overwhelming and very underwhelming when you actually do it.

Don’t listen to the top 1% of players

At the moment the information being pedalled by the people who make their money playing the game is: run as many tier 8 delves as possible, save your coffer keys, and only play these classes that are best for delves.

Well, I’m here to tell you don’t listen.

Don’t play the game in the same way as people who do nothing else but play the game.

Do what’s right for you.

If you struggle to complete higher-tier delves but feel you need to push through because that’s where the good rewards are, stop and take a minute to think if you are actually enjoying the process.

If you want to use one of your coffer keys at your current tier unlock to get some better loot, but are being told to wait, don’t listen. This is a long expansion there will always be more keys.

You need to focus on enjoying the content.

If you are struggling with higher-tier delves and then discover that your class is weak compared to “better” classes in delves, stick to the tier you are comfortable with.

You have my permission to enjoy the game your way.

Alternatively, if your goal is to complete the highest tier possible, in any way possible, there is nothing wrong with that either.

I always remember this mists of Pandaria quote when thinking about playing your own way

I think about the above quote when thinking about playstyles.

The way/reason you play the game will be different to the next person, and so will your goals and personal achievements.

Delves are what you make them

What I am hearing a lot at the moment is that delves are too hard, but that makes no sense to me.

Delves are supposed to be hard and that is not only o.k, it is good.

If the casual player was able to beat the same tier of delve as a hardcore player, it would take away from the achievement of beating that higher tier for both players.

But if the casual player can beat say a tier 6 for example and their goal was to see how high they could get, that is still a fantastic achievement that should be scoffed at.

Try to remember what your personal best is and what you want to achieve and forget what you “should” be achieving.

So please head over to the facebook page (link below) and share your progress, I would love to see how you are all doing.

I need your help…

If you wouldn’t mind please share this publication and talk about it, so more people can join and help build this community.

Also, you may have seen above I am planning a featured transmog section. This means I need transmogs to feature, this is where you come in.

If you would like to show off your transmog and get featured in this publication, please email in an image/screenshot of your transmog and the best will be featured in this section along with a shout-out for you.

I have also created a dedicated Facebook page for this publication. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61565608696507

Another step in building community so please come along and join the conversation. There may also be the occasional dog photo as well.

Finally, if you enjoyed this week’s content and would like to help support the publication, I have set up a Buy Me a Coffee page, any support is greatly appreciated. buymeacoffee.com/thesolommo
